As I sip my Espresso from the lounge of our Datasuite in Amsterdam, our NOC Director, Vasili L., is upstairs busy at work configuring a pallet of servers. Today has been very exciting indeed. A few hours ago we just finished racking and railing the final Dell R710’s – the backbones of our – soon to be – Cloud VPS infrastructure. Eternally opposed to downtime, industry developments over the past 6 months have opened up the doors for us to provide a 100% Guaranteed Uptime VPS hosting solution. Our Cloud VPS solutions will be based on the Xen Server and will feature all the failover and load balanced features of our HA Hosting solution plus the added advantage of an pure elastic hosting service with hourly billing.

I used to have a website up for this very purpose at http://ultrastar-146z10-firmware.com but the registration lapsed, and now it’s all gone. However, as I see people are still looking for this information, I’ll publish it here. These disks amazingly are still very good as OS drives in U320 machines, and there are a lot of them probably stuck at 40MB/sec (UW3) speeds as they’re not in an “IBM TotalStorage” container.
And now, the content of the site which has helped so many fellow IT guys over the last years.
